Welcome
Welcome to Falling Fainters Farm, located in Western Maryland.
We are a small farm that has been raising pygmy goats for
about five years. We have just added Fainting/Myotonic goats
to the farm and have fallen in love with the breed. They are an
intelligent and docile breed. Please take some time and look
around.
What is a Fainting, also know as Myotonic goat?
There are plenty of places on the Internet, such as the International Fainting
Goat Assoc. for the full history of this incredible breed. A simple explanation
would be they are a meat-type goat that has a condition known as myotonia that
causes their muscles to contract and 'lock up' when startled. The goats do not
actually 'faint' or lose consciousness. The condition does not harm them in any
way.
Some of our goats in a 'faint'.
